Back The Blue NC, Inc. will donate $ 273,149 to the Families of two Fallen Watauga County Deputies.
On April 28, 2021, Watauga County Deputies, Sergeant Chris Ward, and K9 Deputy Logan Fox were killed in the line of duty.
Back The Blue NC, Inc. has raised funds totaling $ 273,149. for the families of these two officers.
Sergeant Chris Ward is survived by his wife and two daughters, ages 19 and 6. Deputy Sheriff Logan Fox is survived by his parents, sister, and fiancée.
Back The Blue NC will present the checks, along with memorial plaques, to family members of both Sergeant Ward and Deputy Fox as well as to representatives of the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office at the Watauga County Sheriff Office, 184 Hodges Gap Road, Boone, North Carolina, 28607 on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at 3 pm.
Those that will be attending the presentation are the wife of Sergeant Ward, Mrs. Candace Ward, along with her two daughters. The father of Deputy Fox, Timothy Fox, Deputy Fox’s sister, Sienna and his fiancée, Annaliese Moody. The Sheriff of Watauga County, Sheriff Hagaman will be there along with other representatives from the Sheriff’s office.
Back The Blue NC would like to thank the thousands of people that donated to the Sergeant Ward and K9 Deputy Fox funds. The outpouring of generosity was not only from NC, and from around the entire United States, but from other countries around the world as well.
“Back The Blue NC was founded on July 6, 2020, with the main goal of uniting the North Carolina community of Law Enforcement and their family, friends, and supporters together to fight the "Defund The Police" movement. Quickly, the group evolved into a non-profit organization with the mission statement, "Giving back to those who are willing to give their all."
Back The Blue NC, Inc. is a non-profit 501-C3 organization that operates with an all-volunteer staff with 100 percent of all proceeds and donations going back to the law enforcement community.
