On Thanksgiving Day, Deputy Sheriff Jared Allison was critically injured after engaging in a traffic stop on US 301 Bypass in Rocky Mount, NC. During his attempt to catch up to a motorcycle, another vehicle attempted a left turn in front of him at the intersection of May drive. Tragically, Deputy Allison's patrol vehicle struck the oncoming vehicle. Deputy Allison's vehicle then overturned, he was ejected from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries. He was then transported to Vidant Medical Center for treatment, until ultimately succumbing to his injuries on December 1st, 2020.

Deputy Allison was a U.S. Army veteran and had served with the Nash County Sheriff's Office for 2-1/2 years. He is survived by his wife, son, and parents.

Back The Blue NC is raising funds for Deputy Allison's surviving 9 year old son to be placed into a trust fund.
