Back The Blue NC will present the check along with a plaque at 10am on Thursday, March 25, 2021, to Jared Allison’s widow, Brenae Allison, along with PBA (Police Benevolent Association) Representatives Steve Anthony and Phil Rollinson as well as representatives from the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, 222 W. Washington St. Nashville, NC 27856. “Back The Blue NC was founded on July 6th, 2020 with the main goal of uniting the North Carolina community of Law Enforcement and their family, friends, and supporters together to fight the "Defund The Police" movement. Quickly, the group evolved into a non-profit organization with the mission statement, "Giving back to those who are willing to give their all." BTBNC CEO LiCausi said in a statement announcing the donation, “Tragically, on Thanksgiving eve last year, Deputy Jared Allison of the Nash County Sheriff's Office, NC, while working as part of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office participation in the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program’s Thanksgiving Campaign to ensure motorist safety and travel during the holiday suffered serious injuries in a vehicle accident. He succumbed to his injuries on December 1, 2020. Not only does Deputy Allison leave behind his wife, but his family, friends, and a mourning community. In order to help Deputy Allison’s surviving child, we at Back The Blue NC have worked hard to raise funds through website sales and donations made by the community. In total, $2,500 was raised for his son. It is a mere show of giving compared to what Deputy Allison sacrificed for his community and will never heal the pain left behind for his son, but we hope it will help provide the family with some financial peace of mind. As long as we have our brave men and women of law enforcement, we will always stand ready to give back to those willing to give their all.” Due to the ongoing Virus and its restrictions Back The Blue NC was not able to hold events in which the selling of their tee shirts, bracelets, and challenge coins would raise more funds as it had in the past and had to solely relay on social media donations. We will be matching the funds raised by the North Carolina PBA. Back The Blue NC, Inc. is a non-profit 501-C3 organization that operates with an all-volunteer staff with 100 percent of all proceeds and donations going back to the law enforcement community. Back The Blue NC will continue to raise funds for future law enforcement needs throughout the State in the future. Donations can be made online on the Back The Blue NC website homepage: https://backthebluenc.us/
